The Howler Twinzer

A great everyday board. Works great in good point breaks, good beach breaks and will shine on average days at your local spot. The main focus is the fin setup, the Twinzer. The configuration is an upright twin with a smaller Canard fin placed in front. Not a quad! The small Canard directs water flow onto the upright twin making the water flow efficient. The feeling is added drive and ease of transition to a twin fin setup if youve yet to try one. The rocker is unique as it is not quite a standard short board rocker and not quite a fish rocker. Low entry in the nose with efficient flip and low exit rocker out of the tail and a significant tail flip for pop off of the tail. The outline was influenced by the later versions of the San Diego Fish’s made by Steve Lis infused with a blend of my templates from the 90’s to now. The rails are a modern high performance rail and feels slightly thinner than it is. The bottom contour is a modern performace bottom. Starting from the nose its flat into single concave which increases towards the tail and is deepest in front of the fins and fades to less out of the tail. The foil in the tail is key to this board and works with the Twinzer setup keeing the rail and fins connected to the wave. The foil is very balanced and adds to the ease of of paddle and speed as soon as you are on your feet on the wave. Speed, drive, ease of paddle, and a new unique feel are the main features of how this board surfs. Give one a try!
